Intra-Club Competitions

Fantasy Brewing Draft

Gauging interest in a Fantasy Brewing Draft – think a fantasy sports type draft for homebrew nerds.

When: August 12 at 6:00 PM

Where: The Brew Hut Classroom

  • Each participant drafts a “team” of 7 ingredients, choosing:
    • 1 malt variety.
    • 1 hop variety.
    • 1 yeast variety.
    • 1 adjunct/spice/sugar/fruit.
    • 3 “flex” ingredients of any category.
  • Water, finings, rice hulls, and salts are free and do not count as drafted ingredients.
  • The number of ingredients on each draft list depends upon the number of participants.
  • Trading is encouraged, but must be approved by the “commissioner.”
  • Each participant then brews their beer using all 7 of their team ingredients.
  • Need a minimum of 8 participants. The more the better.
  • $10-20 buy-in on draft day (+ cost of ingredients, of course).
  • Resulting brews judged by popular vote at a future meeting.
    • Winner gets 70% of buy-in pot; runner-up gets 30%
