Everyone,
I’m facilitating a group hop buy from Puterbaugh Farms in Oregon. While we’re
not getting that much of a discount by having a group order, buying in bulk
in general will save you upwards of *$25 per pound* vs. the LHBSs in the
area.
For example: an ounce of Magnum pellets at Beer at Home is $2.50, calculating
to $40 per pound before tax. A pound of Magnum pellets through Puterbaugh
Farms is $11.25 + shipping . Even if shipping for this pound of hops is $8,
which won’t be if you participate in the group buy, the savings is just over
50%! Any way you slice it, that’s cheap!
In fact, when we orderd from this grower before, the hops we received
averaged 17 to 18 ounces, so the savings is even more.
