Rock Hoppers Come Up Big at Big Beers

bbCongratulations to all the Rock Hoppers that walked away with medals from Big Beers this last weekend.  The Rock Hopper contingent was strong in this fiercely contested battle with the following Rock Hoppers coming away with medals: 

Doug Thiel: 3rd Place Belgian Pale Ale

Billy Beeson: 1st Place Baltic Porter

Greg Geiger: 2nd Place Imperial Stout

Brian Pramov: 2nd Place Fruit Beer

Bryan Keas: 1st Place Specialty Beer

 

Honorable Mention (Even though he mistakenly indicated FOTR as his club):

Ed Moore: 2nd Place Strong Scotch Ale, 3rd Place Dopplebock, and HM Baltic Porter

 

Intra Club Comp This Thursday

Hoppers, don’t forget that our meeting this Thursday is the big beer intraclub competition.  Peoples choice winner gets a $50 gift card to Castle Rock Homebrew Supply.  Make sure you bring 24- 48 ounces of 10% or higher alcohol beer specifically for this comp!  Good luck.

Biere de Rock

Calling all Hoppers! Biere de Rock is coming up and we need help. We are looking for judges and stewards. Registration is now open at bierederock.com. Please go to this website and register to judge or steward even if you are not entering (which you should be doing anyway). 🙂

We also need volunteers to help sort on 1/17 at Rockyard. It will be a 3-5 hour deal depending on the # of volunteers. Please contact William Beeson if you are willing to help with this. Thank you for your support of the club.

Rock Hoppers Hopoween Party

The Hoppoween Party is a go!  It will be held at William Beeson’s house from 7-12pm on 11/1.
 
There is no theme this year.  This is typically a costume party so costumes are highly encouraged.  Also highly encouraged is Uber or any other taxi service.  We do not want anyone driving under the influence and there will be a lot of drinking going on.  Please be responsible and safe.
 
Speaking of beer, we will have 12 taps available to pour beer from kegs.  If you have a keg of something you would like to share, please bring it with you..  We will have CO2 to push the beer out and ice chests to keep the kegs cool.  No keg, no problem!  We will have bottle openers too.  
 
Billy will be smoking a brisket and other random meats for sandwiches as the main dish.  We ask that those attending bring a side dish or snacks for everyone.
 
Please contact Billy Beeson through the Rock Hopper contact section if you plan on attending so he can get a head count and/or if you have any questions.  Spouses and friends are welcome as long as they are over 21.
