Any plumber’s in this club

I have a dilemma (I actually have many) but my current one is that I have a problem parting with money.  I am setting up the garage as my home brewery, so I am running hot & cold water adn natural gas out to the garage.  I usually do most of my home improvements myself, but plumbing (outside of sprinkler/drip systems replacing a garbage disposal, or fixing a leak) I don’t have much experience with.  So I call this plumber guy I have used in the past for an estimate.  The guys gives me a time & materials estimate of $250 – $300 for materials (using flex for the gas line, not black pipe), and 4 to 5 hours labor at $100.00 an hour for two guys.  So we are talking $800.00 at the outside for parts & labor, plus I am going to drill the 4″ hole for the drain through the foundation myself at $ 100.00 for the equipment.  Keep in mind my hot/cold water, drain, & gas is 15 feet from my garage via a 4′ crawl space.  Am I getting gouged here?  I figured just having a plumber do the job would save me the time & hassel of doing it myself, but $900 bucks for the plumbing alone is kind of steep IMO.  Anyone have any opinions?

Firkin Night at Great Divide – 3/27

All, there is information on the Great Divide web site about this, but from 6-8 p.m. there is a Firkin Night on March 27. $10 at the door “gets you in and all the cask beer you would like.” Per the information there will be 5 cask beers. Door prizes and jazz music to boot. I’m going for sure!

Rock Hoppers March Madness

All,

Beer and sports go together, so I thought it may be fun to do a Rock Hoppers March Madness bracket pool. I’ve created a group on Yahoo Sports. E-mail me (kruegel.kelly@gmail.com) if you want to participate and I’ll send you the invitation to get signed up. Since it’s much more fun if there’s money to win, cost for bracket participation is $10. You can pay me at the meeting or get money to me sometime prior to the conclusion of the tournament. We’ll pay out with the winner getting 70% of the money, 2nd getting 20%, 3rd getting 10%.

Hopper Poker Night

Is there any interest in a Hopper Texas Holdem poker night?  My neighbors and I have a game a month.  Last month it was in my garage and the home brew was again a hit (they drank 5 gal).  Wondering if anyone is interested in the same type of game for Hopper members, with various styles of homebrew for libations?

$20.00 buy in, tournament style, prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th place depending on the number of players.  Very organized, with blinds going up every 20 min. I believe is the schedule.  We usually start around 7:00pm and we are done by midnight, with 20 players.  No experience required, very easy paced low key game.

E-mail me if you would be interested, I will host it at my house in Parker.
