Building a keezer, need input.

Okay, I am in the process of putting together a 6-tap kegerator, it is being built from a 10.3 cf chest freezer. I am still trying to configure the actual dispensing part, I have a 10 lb. CO2 tank that will reside in the freezer and so far no regulators or manifolds. Now for the questions:

1. How many different pressures do I really need to run? With 6 different beers on tap should I set it up to run one pressure only or more? I was thinking two regulators to two manifolds for two different pressures.

2. Keg condition or force carb? If force carbing would it be beneficial to have a dedicated CO2 tank for that purpose?

3. Ball lock or pin lock?

4. Do any of you guys run a nitrogen tap, if so, are they worth the extra expense?

THanks for any input you guys may have. I will post up some pics when it’s done.

Brew Hut Giving Away 16 Gallon Carboys!

I just got back from the Brew Hut and Steve wanted me to let everyone know that he’s got 9 16 gallon containers that formerly housed extract that can be used as fermenters.

Yes, it’s plastic, but it’s FREE. All you need to do is clean it out. It’s made of PET plastic (food safe).

A #5 stopper fits quite well in the small hole for an airlock.

Did I mention these were FREE! Perfect for 10 gallon batches – lots of room for blowoff.

Steve also mentioned that he goes through 2 to 3 of these per month, so if you miss out now, you can check back later.

Cheers!
