Hoppers Win at Liquid Poetry

The liquid poetry slam was this weekend. Adam and I went up to judge. Several hoppers took home awards. Michael Bade took a third with his “breakfast beer” (sorry, don’t have the medal right in front of me for the specific category) and the Kruegel/Egolf fruit Biere de Garde took 1st in fruit beer. Greg took an honorable mention in Bock, which they noted was an insanely competative category as Greg’s HM beer scored an average of 38!

So, Geoff on the NHC menu, if you want to list that the beer took 1st at Liquid Poetry and 2nd and Eight Seconds of Froth, it would be nice to say we have an award winner on the menu (maybe there are more?)

Chris, you need to enter that base Biere de Garde in some competitions, I think it will do well.

Scoresheets

Kelly and Jason:

I found some of your scoresheets from the Eight Seconds of Froth comp., I think, in the back of my car while driving back from Longmont today. Please let me know if you would like to meet me sometime to pick them up. I could also bring them to the next club meeting. Just let me know. Sorry that I didn’t see them. Guess it was just buried under all the schwag.

Eight Seconds of Froth Results

Eight Seconds of Froth was tons of fun today, the boys and girls up in Wyoming put on a very nice competition. Hopper results are:

1st place in German Wheat and Rye, Chris Egolf with his 15B Dunkelweizen. Congratulations Chris, he is now the second eligible brewer for the pro am. Wow, we’ve just made this tough on Jim, he’ll actually have to choose a beer now.

2nd place in a combined category 20/21 Fruit Beers and Spiced, Herb, or Vegetable beers was the Kruegel/Egolf fruit Bier de Garde.

3rd place in Strong Ale was the Kruegel’s 19A Blue Hair Old Ale.

NHC Regionals Drop Off @ Oskar Blues

This year, the NHC Old West Region drop off location is at the Oskar Blues Brewery.

1800 Pike Road, Unit B
Longmont, CO 80501

Who is going up to drop off? I’m thinking I might go either weekend of the entry window (March 28/29 or April 4/5).

If you can’t go, but are entering your brews, we should coordinate. No need to ship when it’s as close to home as it is!

If you are entering the contest, please see this post to sign up and indicate your brews our tracking sheet.
