hog heaven

Seeing that november is our hop month, perhaps some folks are interested in going to Avery on Nov. 21st for the Hog Heaven 10th anniversary party. Not sure on cost, but I am counting on Kelly and I going, and as usual, we will have room for a few others. The party is limited to the first fifty, so we should all decide quickly, and hopefully it isn’t already booked up. Let us know!!

Rock Bottom Mug Club Today

I am sure many of you know this, but I got an e-mail from the Mug Club and they’re putting $10 on your mug club card good today October 31, 2008 only. Jason and I will be headed to the South Rock Bottom this afternoon (probably around 4:30) and if anyone wants to join us for a drink that would be great. Happy Halloween.

2008 GABF Pro-Am Entry for Hopper Bade!

I’ve been invited to brew my “Goes to Eleven” Pilsner as a Pro-Am in the 2008 GABF.  I’ll be pairing up with Tom Hail, Brewmaster of the Sandlot Brewery at Coors Field.

I grew up with Tom, I’ve known him since 1st Grade. We’ve palled around for years, were Best Man in each others Wedding, and yes, learned to homebrew together back in the late eighties.  So, it’s sort of a case of who you know, not what you know.

I did the same thing last year, brewing “Doctor Cronic’s Red Hop Tonic”.  It was a blast. The “Goes to Eleven” will be brewed maybe as soon as next weekend.

We can do a personalized club tour of the Sandlot – date unspecified- (maybe around the time the Goes to Eleven is ready to be tapped).  Evenings are probably better than weekends.  We can discuss at the next meeting.
