NHC Judges and Stewards Wanted

Fellow Hoppers-

Here is a email I received from Dottie Clapp of Foam on the Range. She is looking for judges and stewards for the 1st round of the NHC here in Denver. This is a good opportunity to have real experience judging homebrewed beer. It is not necessary to be a certified judge to be involved. You can steward the NHC and learn lots from other judges and usually get some samples too. You can reach Dottie at: dottie.clapp@eds.com.

Here’s the email:

All,
I have been asked to direct the first round of the National Homebrew Competition for the Old West region again this year. I am asking you all to volunteer to judge or steward for this event. Please mark your calendars for the weekends of 4/17 and 4/25. We will most likely complete the judging the weekend of 4/17 and won’t need the weekend of 4/25, however I would like you to reserve both these weekends at this point until we have the logistics finalized.

Also, we are considering 1 of 2 locations for the judging. Either in Denver again like last year, or possibly in Longmont at the new Oskar Blues facility. I would like to receive your feedback if you’re planning to volunteer and if so, if you have a preference on the location. Just reply back to me.

Anyone interested in bulk grain purchase

Probably the wrong forum for this so admins feel free to move if needed.

I am out of grain and want to brew again on the cheap!  Last purchase was 50lb bag of 2 row.  Since I don’t believe the next club group grain purchase isnt till spring ( Anyone know when the next one will happen?) was wondering if anyone would like split a 50lb bag of grain with me.  I believe most bulk grain is $50 bucks a bag ($1 a lb), but I really don’t want another 50lbs of one kind of grain.  I would actually like 25 lbs of 2 row and another 25 lbs of Marris Otter if anyone wants to split that up let me know.  If there are several people interested maybe we could pool our cash and buy several differnt kinds of base grains and all come away happy.  Contact info is rick_mazza@yahoo.com if your interested.
