To celebrate the National Homebrewers Association National Homebrew Day, the Rock Hoppers will be hosting a Big Brew event at the Rockyard American Grill and Brewing Company in Castle Rock.
At 11:00 am, we’ll be participating in the Big Brew International Toast. Bring those breakfast stouts!
Here’s the lowdown:
- The Rockyard will provide hot water for mash and sparge, two-row base malt, and yeast slurry (an American ale strain) for club participants who will be brewing.
- Participating brewers should come with their own mash tuns, burners, boil kettles, specialty malts and hops.
- There will be cool water available on a staggered schedule for wort chilling.
- Brewer-participants then will ferment their brews made from the common base and yeast strains.
- As the beers mature, sharing of the results among the group is absolutely requried!
Everyone is encouraged to bring a friend, brew, and/or simply come and hang out during the festivities.
Brewing will take place in the great outdoors in the back of the Rockyard building.
Indicate whether or not you plan to brew, simply attend, or skip it by participating in the poll.
We’ll be brewing big beer in the great outdoors. Join us for brewing, food, and fun!
