Founders Night @ Boulder Beer

30 years ago, two Colorado homebrewers acquired a brewery license, retrofitted a goat-shed into a brew house and founded Colorado’s First Microbrewery — and the oldest of the operating modern craft breweries in the United States. Join us at 5 pm as we welcome back those two pioneers, David Hummer and Stick Ware, for an informal evening of tasting and beer war stories, hosted by our Brewmaster, David Zuckerman.

Need Feedback on a recipe

All,

I’m trying to put together a recipe for a Belgian Dark Strong Ale (i.e., quad) and I would like some feedback from the experts on here.

Here is what I have so far.

=======================

Grains

15 LBS – Belgian Two-Row Pale

2 LBS – Munich Malt

1 LB – Belgian Candy Sugar

1 LB – Belgian Aromatic

1 LB – Belgian Biscuit

.5 LB – Special B

=======================

Hops

1 oz – Styrian Goldings @ 90min

1 oz – Saaz @60min

=======================

Yeast

WLP500 – White Labs Trappist Ale (starter)

=======================

90 minute boil, ferment in mid 80s.

Assuming I hit 70% efficiency, my target OG is 1.104, with a target FG of 1.023, SRM: 18 and IBU of around 30.

Brewing Sunday 5/10

If anyone wants to stop by. Undecided yet on the actual brews, but it will be something good. 17508 Lamar Ct, Parker. Yeah, we’re nuts to be brewing more after last weekend, but what the hell, beer is good.
