It’s that time of year again, time for the annual HRBC holiday beer exchange.
This will take place at the December meeting! For those who may have never
participated before, here is a rundown of the rules:
This works like a white elephant gift exchange except that gag gifts are not
allowed. The beer you bring should be something you would genuinely want to
go home with. Minimum value is $10.00. This can be a single bottle or
multiple bottles, that’s up to you, but the total value must be at least $10.
If you have a secret stash of something not available in Colorado and want to
make someone’s day, values of over $10 are certainly acceptable. *Commercial
beer is preferred*, but if you have a truly outstanding homebrew (like some
of you folks who have picked up BOS awards this year) and want to use that,
homebrew is an option.
Bring your submission *wrapped* to the meeting. I’ll be keeping a list of
participants and we’ll hand out numbers for the order of selection. When your
number is called you can pick a beer from the table or you can steal an
already opened beer. Here’s the important part, once a beer has been stolen
for a second time it is “safe” and cannot be stolen again.
This is usally a really fun event with a high volume of participation. I
encourage everyone to join in the fun. Questions, e-mail me,
kruegel.kelly@gmail.com [1]. Cheers and good beers for the holidays!
