Hoppers,
The Rockyard is presenting a very cool and unique opportunity to us! For The
Rockyard’s January/February seasonal beer, they would like to brew a Hopper’s
recipe! They have selected Porter as the style they would like to brew. The
beers do not need to be medal winning beers; it will simply be a “good beer
competition”. Jim and Kjell will select the best porter our club has to offer
and scale it up on their system.
On brewday, instead of the one member coming in to brew with Jim and Kjell,
the ENTIRE club will be invited in to help with the brew and socialize! The
beer will then be tapped at The Rockyard for a period of 2 months as well as
bottled for The Rockyard’s new seasonal 4 packs that will be distributed
across the Denver – Metro area! The bottle label will include a description
of the club’s involvement and our penguin logo. The club will also be given a
keg to pour at NHC and any other event we choose!
This is a very unique opportunity and should make for a really great time! If
you want to be a part of the recipe selection, please bring a bottle of your
porter to the meeting this Thursday to hand off to Kjell. Unfortunately, due
to the constrained time table, there won’t be time to brew a porter and
submit for this year; next year we will have more notice and will be able to
allow for members to brew their recipes for competition.

Cheers!
Your RHBC Officers
